Do you feel like your're literally running a marathon EVERY. SINGLE. DAY?
Between the back to school chaos, fall sports and activities, work and home responsibilities, we are all finding ourselves with little time to even think about eating healthy, let alone plan ahead (who does that?? 🤣)
This week, I wanted to share my best tips you can use when you’re faced with making a food or meal choice.
We are making decisions every day on what to eat while traveling, at work, or simply on the go.
And truly, let’s be real, it’s hard to plan every single meal and plan for changes in our day that throw off our routine.
The main goal is to eat as much real food as possible. Always keep this as a top priority.
When you are pressed for time, it is so easy to grab a protein bar which can be loaded with hidden sugars, inflammatory oils, and other artificial ingredients.
These fake foods truly don’t provide much in terms of real nutrition and nourishment.
They are tempting because they “do the trick” of satisfying hunger temporarily, and are viewed as a better choice with many being under 250 calories, but they are not an ideal part of a healthy nutrition plan.
If possible, always keep an apple or orange (or similar ready to eat fruit) in your bag or at your desk, that you can grab for a quick meal if needed.
I personally love blueberries, or raspberries that are washed and ready to eat any time.
Be careful of dried fruit! It is way too high in sugar and calories, so I don’t recommend that.
Also, many nut butters come in single squeeze packs. Look for the ones without palm oil if possible. And no, Nutella is not a nut butter, it is a dessert 😂
Nuts and seeds are ok as well, just remember to measure out your portion as these are easy to over eat.
Low fat string cheese or any piece of cheese, can be a great option as well.
Get creative with the foods you like, and keep as much real food as you can in your life.
Your body thanks you in advance. 🙌🏻
