Staying Healthy During Summer Celebrations: a Health Coach's Perspective

Happy 4th of July!

This is a recent picture of me at a carnival after winning a unicorn headband from the Duck Race game.

I am truly over-the-moon ecstatic! I'm a goofball like that.

Seriously though, today I'm pausing to reflect on how grateful I truly am to have all the freedoms and positives that come with living in our great country.

Feeling gratitude, for whatever you choose to feel it for, always sets your mind up to loving possibility. Try it!

As women at this point in history, we definitely have much more opportunity and access to improve our wellness and our experience of our life on this beautiful earth. I'm mostly thinking coaching (of course 😉) and other wellness avenues.

A couple of simple tips for navigating summer gatherings I have for all of you:

  1. Stay hydrated. I can't emphasize this enough! When you are not mindful of your water intake, you can experience fatigue and actually feel hungry too. In addition, your metabolism does not function optimally if you're not well hydrated.

  2. Watch your alcohol intake. I'm not telling you not to drink! Obviously abstaining has benefits beyond what I'm talking about here, but alcohol has more calories that you think, can dehydrate you, and can lead to poor food decisions as well as it decreases your decision-making abilities. So plan ahead and try to stick to your set limit.

  3. Focus on people, not food. Wherever you are, and whatever you are doing today, make your focus about connection and thankfulness. When you bring your attention to those around you and enjoying your connection with them, food can take step out of the spotlight for you.

Need help navigating all this or anything else related to experiencing your most well life and weight? Want more in-depth information and help?

I am available for 1:1 customized coaching to get you to your goals.

Book a call with me and I can show you how you CAN have both the amazing and rich life experience AND the healthy body you've always wanted. It's not as difficult as you think.
